INNOVATIVE NEW PRODUCTS FOR THE BUILDING INDUSTRY:

Quickflash Weatherproofing Products, Inc. manufactures a patented line of innovative, high-grade polyethylene plastic / thermoplastic rubber flashing panels for plumbing, electrical, gas, and HVAC exterior protrusions.

The company has an expanding wholesale distribution network and is being stocked by retailers across the U.S. who wish to carry what have been described as “cost-effective, “user-friendly” products which are designed to minimize the possibility of human error in installation.

Flashing is a key component in the building process. Quickflash panels complete the building envelope system and offer a no caulk friction seal for reducing liability for moisture intrusion, creating an air barrier, and even preventing insect infestation through the penetrations or protrusions. Caulking breaks down over time and with the elements and does not bond well with other materials. Incomplete and improper caulking of penetrations is one of the primary sources of water intrusion. Any time the building envelope is breached, proper sealing is essential. Our products offer a significant improvement over the current method of caulking or taping sub-exterior electrical, plumbing, and HVAC vertical wall penetrations.

Quickflash Weatherproofing Products’ innovative line of flashing panels are non-conductive and non-corrosive and save substantial time and labor costs. Most significantly, company representatives assert that Quickflash products have tested as highly effective in stopping leaks and keeping out moisture which can lead to toxic mold, dry rot and other problems.

All Quickflash products come with a 10 year limited warranty for product failure. With the reduction in liability that the panels offer, builders and developers can eliminate the headaches of having to pay trade partners to repair penetrations when they fail. One latent defect or toxic mold lawsuit can consume the profits of a phase or an entire project. Also, a number of the Latent Defect Liability Insurance carriers are now factoring the use of Quickflash panels into risk assessment ratings for builders.

Toxic mold, an issue that has received significant media attention of late, has become the focus of a growing number of lawsuits within the building and construction industry. Some insurance carriers are now severely limiting, or even eliminating, the scope of toxic mold coverage in their policies.

Quickflash’s flashing products are extremely versatile and are designed to work under a variety of exterior finishes such as stucco, wood, siding, veneers, brick, cultured stone, etc. providing that they are incorporated with a house wrap or building paper. Other benefits of Quickflash products which will be emphasized in its national marketing efforts include the safety and ease of installation – it takes only “seconds” to push on and install an immediate weather-proofing seal and firm backing, and no 24-hour caulk curing time is required.

Recently, Quickflash has announced that they are reaching out to developers through a national marketing campaign and have signed national agreements with Woodside Homes and K.B. Home, as well as regional agreements with Pulte Homes, K. Hovnanian Homes, and Lennar Homes. The company is also in discussions with all of the major electrical box manufacturers to expand the product lines to include the most popular boxes nation wide. Quickflash, while established in the single-family market, sees growth markets in the multi-family, senior community, manufactured housing, and commercial development industries.

Notes Quickflash CEO, Bill Gilleran: “Our goal at Quickflash is to help developers build safer, more reliable, and higher-quality homes and commercial buildings while allowing them to keep costs down. We offer the missing piece in the building envelope system. We are working to make Quickflash the standard for sealing exterior penetrations, replacing the inferior method of caulking and tape flashing. You flash your doors and windows, now you can flash your penetrations. We are looking to create a ‘win-win’ situation for everyone involved in the building process – the developer, the architect, subcontractors, and, inevitably, the property owners.”

Adds Matt Fannon, Quickflash Marketing and Sales Director: “We are excited about our newly launched nationwide marketing and distribution efforts to meet the burgeoning demand for our products. Given the current state of affairs in both the residential and commercial building and construction industries, we anticipate that builders, architects, subcontractors and others across the country will gravitate quickly toward our lines, once they are educated about the multiple advantages. In truth, Quickflash has no competition – it is the first and only company to present a new design model as the ultimate solution to weatherproofing exterior wall protrusions. Our products are very affordably priced as well – running somewhere in hard costs as only slightly more than caulking alone.”

Product Descriptions:

Plumbing & HVAC: Quickflash’s plumbing line incorporates both plumbing and HVAC applications starting with the P-50 panel which is designed for ½” to ¾” pipes all the way up to our P-600 and P-400 for 6” and 4” sheet metal duct. There is a flashing panel for any size of pipe, conduit, hose bib, or duct.

Electrical: The electrical line incorporates the E-SGB panel for specific single gang boxes with depth variations to include different exterior finishes such as stucco, siding, brick, and cultured stone. Quickflash offers 3” and 4” round box panels as well in the E-3/0 and E-4/0 that also have variations for different exterior building practices. There are some new products lines available that include the E-PC line for 3” and 4” pancake boxes as well as our newest product for 4” steel octagon shaped electrical boxes.

QUICKFLASH WEATHERPROOFING INTRODUCES VERSATILE LINE OF ELECTRICAL FLASHING PANELS FOR ONE-COAT STUCCO & “ EIFS” SYSTEMS

New Product Line Greatly Expands Accessibility of Cost-Effective Exterior Electrical Flashing Panels That Combat A Host of Moisture-Related Problems.   Initial Roll-Out Emphasizes Las Vegas, Phoenix And Sacramento Markets Where Product Can Benefit Builders Most.

Las Vegas, NV . . .  In response to burgeoning customer demand for enhanced adaptability of its patented and highly popular push-on flashing panels for electrical external penetrations,  Quickflash Weatherproofing Products of Las Vegas, NV, announces the introduction of a new line of  1 3/8 inch panels specifically designed for one-coat stucco and EIFS systems.   Company sources indicate the new product line offers the same convenience and highly effective moisture-stopping properties of Quickflash’s flagship 7/8 inch line of high-grade thermal plastic rubber flashing panels, but is now available in a size accommodating one-coat stucco and EIFS construction.  While the new product line is being introduced nationally, the company is making a special marketing thrust in the Las Vegas, Phoenix and Sacramento markets where use of the one-coat stucco/EIFS systems is particularly widespread.

The new Quickflash line debuts with two products:   1) Electrical Single Gang Box Flashing Panel (Part #E-SGB-A 1 3/8”) which fits the industry standard ALLIED MOULDED BOX (Part #9327-N) only; and 2) Electrical 3/0 Box Flashing Panel  (Part #E-3/0 B-A 1 3/8”) which fits ALLIED MOULDED BOXES (Parts #9335-HNGK and #9335 HNK) only.   Quickflash also offers a line of flashing products for plumbing exterior penetrations which have already enjoyed acceptance in the aforementioned markets.

Quickflash, under the auspices of its founding president and CEO, construction industry veteran William (“Bill”) Gilleran, has experienced exponential, 4-digit growth since its decision to expand outside its local Southern Nevada service area and into national markets in April 2002.

Quickflash plumbing and electrical flashing panels were invented by Gilleran, a former long-time quality control specialist for new construction and water intrusion problems. His high-grade polyethylene plastic and thermal plastic rubber flashing panels were embraced almost immediately by the building community due to their multiple advantages over traditional weatherproofing products and methodologies.  The panels are non-conductive, non-corrosive and “greatly reduce the possibility of human error” in installation, while substantially reducing time and labor costs.  Most importantly, they have tested to be highly effective in keeping out moisture -- the source of toxic mold, dry rot and other construction problems.  Toxic mold has become so widespread that many insurance carriers are now severely limiting, or even eliminating, the scope of toxic mold coverage on their policies.

Quickflash products are designed for multiple finishes such as stucco, wood, brick, vinyl, veneers, etc., and reportedly eliminate the need for sheet metal flashing and caulking.  They effectively replace the old practice of caulking electrical and plumbing penetrations to building paper on residential and commercial buildings. If the installer of the moisture-resistant barrier does not properly carry through with the caulk application to form a weather-proof seal, the installation is immediately flawed and water entry can occur.

Other benefits of Quickflash products emphasized in its marketing efforts include the safety and ease of installation – it takes only “seconds” to push on and install an immediate weather-proofing seal and firm backing, and no 24-hour caulk curing time is required.  In addition, Quickflash panels do not have any sharp edges (as opposed to sheet metal) thus helping to reduce on-the-job injuries and Workman’s Compensation claims. All the products have a ten-year limited warranty.

Notes Gilleran:  “We are extremely happy to be introducing the new line of Quickflash panels for one-coat stucco and EIFS systems.  Many of our customers, particularly in Las Vegas, Phoenix and Sacramento, were happy with our plumbing flashing products, but were unable to utilize our electrical flashing products because of their incompatibility with one-coat stucco size requirements.  Now, these same builders will be able to enjoy the superior efficiency and moisture-stopping properties of our electrical flashing products as well.”

Adds Rodger Reeder, Quickflash Marketing Director: “The introduction of the one-coat and EIFS system electrical flashing panels is another important step for us in terms of increasing market share in this industry by listening and responding to the needs of builders, architects, and ultimately,  homeowners. By introducing this line, more homeowners in markets where this type of construction is prevalent will enjoy the outstanding moisture-stopping benefits and peace of mind our products offer.”

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA-BASED QUICKFLASH WEATHERPROOFING EXTENDS REACH INTO NATIONAL MARKETS

Rapid Expansion Fueled By Growing Demand for Innovative, Patented Plumbing and Electrical Exterior Flashing Products That Keep Out Moisture Which Can Lead To Toxic Mold, Dry Rot and Other Moisture Related Problems.

In a move to capitalize on the growing demand for its products in an increasingly litigious building and construction climate, Las Vegas, Nevada-based Quickflash Weatherproofing Products Inc., is expanding its reach beyond Southern California into the national marketplace, with special thrusts into Georgia, Texas, Florida, New York and other regions of its home state where its products are not yet widely utilized.

Quickflash, under the auspices of its founding president and CEO, construction industry veteran William (“Bill”) Gilleran, manufactures a line of innovative, high-grade polyethylene plastic flashing panels for plumbing and electrical exterior protrusions, and will be receiving the official patent certificates for its products within the next few weeks.

The company is currently in discussions with wholesalers across the U.S. who wish to carry what have been described as  “cost-effective", “user-friendly” products which are designed to minimize the possibility of human error in installation, are non-conductive and non-corrosive and save substantial time and labor costs (i.e., using one laborer, it is estimated that it takes approximately one week to flash 14 average size homes via conventional sheet metal methodology; the same number and size of homes can be flashed with Quickflash products using one laborer in only 1.25 days.) Most significantly, company representatives assert that Quickflash products have tested as highly effective in stopping leaks and keeping out moisture which can lead to toxic mold, dry rot and other problems.

Toxic mold, an issue that has received significant media attention of late, has become the focus of a growing number of lawsuits within the building and construction industry.  Some insurance carriers are now severely limiting, or even eliminating, the scope of toxic mold coverage in their policies.

Quickflash plumbing and electrical flashing panels were invented by Gilleran, a former long-time quality control specialist for new construction and water intrusion problems, in 1999.  Gilleran’s polyethylene flashing products, designed for multiple finishes such as stucco, wood, siding, veneers, etc., reportedly eliminate the need for sheet metal flashing and caulking.  They effectively replace the old practice of caulking electrical and plumbing protrusions to lath paper on residential and commercial buildings. If the installer of the lath paper does not properly carry through with the caulk application to form a weather-proof seal, the installation is immediately flawed and water entry can occur.

Other benefits of Quickflash products which will be emphasized in its national marketing efforts include the safety and ease of installation – it takes only “seconds” to push on and install an immediate weather-proofing seal and firm backing, and no 24-hour caulk curing time is required.  In addition, because they are made of high-grade polyethylene plastic, Quickflash panels are non-conductive, non-corrosive, and do not have any sharp edges (as opposed to sheet metal) thus helping to reduce on-the-job injuries and Workman’s Compensation claims. All the products have a ten-year limited warranty.

Notes Gilleran: “Our goal at Quickflash is to help developers build safer, higher-quality homes and commercial buildings while allowing them to keep costs down and problems -- such as moisture leaks which can cause toxic mold and dry rot problems -- to a bare minimum.  We are looking to create a ‘win-win’ situation for everyone involved in the building process – the developer, the architect, plumbing and electrical subcontractors, and, of course, the homebuyer and/or property owner.”

Adds Rebacca Haskins, Quickflash Marketing Director: “We are excited about our newly launched nationwide marketing and distribution efforts to meet the burgeoning demand for our products. Given the current state of affairs in both the residential and commercial building and construction industries, we anticipate that builders, architects, subcontractors and others across the country will gravitate quickly toward our lines, once they are educated about the multiple advantages.  In truth, Quickflash has no competition – it is the first and only company to present a new design model as the ultimate solution to weatherproofing electrical and plumbing protrusions, and its products are very affordably priced as well – running somewhere in hard costs as only slightly more than caulking alone, but less than sheet metal flashing, and certainly adding a plethora of benefits which ultimately save time, money and headaches, perhaps possibly even litigation down the road.”
